Gestures of Impossibility
A monkey randomly hitting the keys of a laptop over an infinite period of time may well eventually produce the complete works of Shakespeare, the Infinite Monkey Theorem itself, or at the very least, these words in front of you. Perhaps the more astounding phenomenon, though, is not that infinity closes upon the singular, but that singularity opens onto the infinite. In Italo Calvino’s ‘The...

Sharing here my analysis of the #Occupy movement and related struggles for anyone who’s interested. It’s written from a Nietzschean anarchist perspective, and will feature in an upcoming edited collection on “Rethinking Resistance”. Any feedback on how I can improve it would be greatly appreciated! Hope you’ll find it an inspiring read at the very least =)

“From Charlie Kaufman, writer of Being John Malkovich and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, comes Anomalisa his first animated film. The film is about a man crippled by the mundanity of his life, and will be approximately 40 minutes in length”.
So excited for Charlie Kaufman’s new project! I love that guy’s mind. And it’s so cool he’s using Kickstarter to...

Towards a global debt strike?
No matter how in debt to the banks we are, they’ve already usurped trillions of our taxpayer dollars and euros, meaning it’s more likely the bankers are actually in debt to us. Everyone’s debt should just be wiped clean - from students to small business owners to Third World countries. The first stirrings of a global debtors’ rebellion here!

What David Graeber and Stevphen Shukaitis wrote in Constituent Imagination about Jean Baudrillard I believe is also true of Slavoj Zizek (to give context, they’re comparing the differing reception in academia of the three major intellectuals of the Situationist movement after 1968 - Baudrillard, Debord, and Vaneigem):
“Debord and Vaneigem at least thought it was possible to strike...

Antonio Negri: A revolt that never ends
Documentary about the life and ideas of Italian activist-intellectual Antonio Negri. With interesting footage and information from Italy in the 1960s-70s it follows his development from the Autonomists through to his trial for supposed involvement in the Red Brigades all the way up to Empire and the alterglobalisation movement.
